Why did we create this blog?

At CERC, we believe that building world-class financial infrastructure is not just a technical journey — it is a story worth telling. Building CERC was born out of a desire to share the behind-the-scenes of how we are transforming the Brazilian financial market with technology, engineering, and plenty of innovation.

Every day, our teams solve complex challenges in scale, reliability, security, and performance. These are architectural decisions, experiments that worked (and some that did not), lessons learned in production, and reflections on what it means to build financial systems that process billions of reais in transactions.

We wanted an authentic, technical, and direct space — without corporate marketing. A place where engineers talk to engineers, where we share what really happens when you are building critical infrastructure for the national financial system.

Who are we?

CERC (Central de Recebíveis) is an independent and neutral financial market infrastructure, regulated by the Central Bank of Brazil. We are responsible for registering and managing information about various types of receivables and financial assets in Brazil.

Our platform processes a significant volume of daily transactions, requiring the highest standards of availability, performance, and security. These challenges make us grow and learn constantly — and that is exactly what we want to share here.
